Tanuki (狸 or たぬき), raccoon dog, is a mischievous jovial Japanese folklore spirit monster of the yokai family, thought to bring good fortune and prosperity to those who form a relationship with him. He is a shapeshifting, illusion-casting prankster, a popular cultural icon in traditional as well as modern Japan. The leaf on his head allows Tanuki to shapeshift and play tricks on unsuspecting folk, often resulting in monetary gain. This makes Tanuki an icon, as he is often placed outside business establishments in Japan akin to maneki-neko, the lucky beckoning cat, drawing visitors to come in and spend their money.

Our prints are printed with bleed on a high-quality heavyweight 189g/m2 stock Epson Enhanced Matte Paper on a professional wide format Epson printer using 100-year lasting pigment ink technology.
Prints are packaged with care and shipped in a sturdy rigid protective envelope with a cardboard backing inside a clear sleeve for 8×10 prints, or in a kraft cardboard tube for larger size prints.
